Microsoft released an excellent add-on for Windows XP called Microsoft Private Folder. Microsoft Private Folder is a product released by Microsoft as part of their “Windows Genuine Advantage” program. It allowed users to protect private data in a password protected folder called ‘My Private Folder’ in the user’s account.
Unlike other third party software, Microsoft Private Folder only works on genuine Windows and the folder is not discreetly hidden. However, this is a reliable security software that does the job as promised. This is a useful tool for you to protect your private data when your friends, colleagues, kids or other people share your PC or account.
Because of security reasons and complains from enterprise users, Microsoft has decided to discontinue the software, however, it is still available in software review websites such as softpedia. Download Microsoft Private Folder.
